Mexico destination wedding packages

Just the name conjures up so many different images in one's mind. An interesting mix of past and present has created a mesh of native, colonial and modernist influences. To travel through Mexico is to travel through time. It has beaches, archaeological areas, colonial cities, modern metropolis's, forests and mountains. Such is the vast sprawling landscape we've had to break it up into several sections.

Northern Mexico:
A hub of industry and business, Northern Mexico is characterized by extreme weather which has created both deserts and nature reserves sandwiched between dramatic mountain ranges.

Central Mexico:
Central Mexico has maintained many of its traditional townships which reflect the true color and life of old Mexico. Some of the older, colonial cities have even been declared world heritage sites.

Southern Mexico and the Gulf of Mexico:
Between the blue waters of the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico you'll find a plethora of forests, marshes and swamps. An ecological haven, this area sees an influx of tourists every year.

The Yucatan Peninsula:
Pristine beaches and clear waters are a plenty. You can enjoy some of the world's best scuba diving along the second largest coral reef on the planet. For those of you who know your history, the Yucatan Peninsula is the site of much Mayan history.

The Pacific Coast:
Culturally rich, the Pacific Coast hosts some of the best sailing and fishing all year round.

The Baja California Peninsula:
To witness the migration of the Gray Whale is reason enough to visit this enchanting area but couple that with the state of the art golfing facilities and the opportunity to go diving in the Sea of Cortes, Baja is one you must not miss.

Quick facts

  • Mexico is located in the northern region of the American continent between the Gulf of Mexico on the east and the Pacific Ocean on the west
  • It is bordered by the United States in the north and by Guatemala and Belize in the south.
  • Mexico's land area extends 1,964,375 sq km, which is divided into six tourist regions.
  • The coast and lowlands are hot and humid all year. The interior highlands are milder and drier, but can become freezing between December and February. Rainfall is scarce throughout most of the country
  • Spanish is the official language of Mexico although English is widely spoken.
  • The new peso is the currency of Mexico. The most convenient form of money in Mexico is a major international credit card or debit card. In heavily tourist areas such as Acapulco, Cancun and Cozumel, you can often spend US dollars as easily as pesos at hotels and restaurants.
  • Mexico's 32 states are truly diverse, as each one has countless tourist destinations offering a wide array of activities.

Here are some examples of Mexican Wedding Day Away locations...

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Located to the South of the Baja Peninsula, Cabos is an exclusive destination. Los Cabos unites the waters of the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez (also called the Gulf of California).

Cabos is famous for a stretch of highway known as the Tourist corridor (Corredor Turistico to the locals) which is populated with beautiful restaurants and hotels. No wonder it attracts the celebrities of People magazine.

Los Cabos is an unforgettable experience for the entire family thanks to its championship golf courses, the scuba diving of Magdalena Bay, excellent sport fishing, kayaking and gorgeous beaches such as El Arco.

During the winter in Los Cabos you can admire one of the most beautiful natural phenomena to occur on Mexico's coasts: the courtship, mating and birth process of the gray whale.

Cancun, Mexico

Cancun, Mexico

Cancun is probably the most well known of Mexico's tourist resorts. Yet it wasn't until 1974 that Cancun was truly "discovered" before which it was a quiet hidden away paradise. Now it's a vibrant, popular destination rivaling the Caribbean hot spots. Located in the state of Quintana Roo in the Yucatan Peninsula region, it has a subtropical climate with average temperatures ranging between 27º C (81º F) and 35º C (95º F). The beaches are white sand and the water turquoise-blue.

Cancun features activities aplenty such as snorkeling, scuba diving, parachuting and more. The Hotel Zone is 30 kilometers of villas, 5 star hotels, shopping malls, restaurants, bars and clubs.

Cozumel, Mexico

Cozumel, Mexico

With a Mexican heart and a Caribbean soul, Cozumel is a paradise where tradition, flavor and joy come together. You will always find a friendly face and a warm welcome to make your stay an unforgettable one.

Cozumel, Mexico's largest island, is an eco-adventurer's dream. The climate is warm and humid, with strong rainfall in the summer which means the island is covered with lush jungle vegetation which is surrounded by rocky coastlines, white-sand beaches, lagoons and mangroves. Around the island is the world's second biggest coral reef, the Great Mayan Reef. These islands have unsurprisingly drawn the attention of marine biologists and researchers including the famous Jacques Cousteau.

Cozumel has delightful resorts (Especially in the only town, San Miguel de Cozumel) and beautiful empty stretches of beach, all wrapped up in a low-key tropical atmosphere. During your stay, you can sample excellent golf courses, spas, and restaurants serving up a wide array of regional fish and seafood dishes. And of course there's the thriving nightlife where one can drink national and exotic beverages under a moonlit sky. Come here if you like diving and water-sports, eco-adventures, and sun-washed beaches personified by Playa San Francisco.

With crystal clear waters and incredible variety of marine life Cozumel reefs offer and underwater experience you won't soon forget. The waters surrounding the island are so clear that visibility can be up to 250 feet. As many as 200 different species of fish can be seen: one of the most spectacular is the Queen Angelfish which possess bright blue and yellow markings and a distinctive blue crown. A Toad fish that grows up to 16 inches and can catch and consume its prey in milliseconds. And even the world's largest collection of reef sponge.

Back on dry land the natural inhabitants of Cozumel are just as unusual including dwarf racoons, frigate birds, pelicans, large iguana's, crocodiles and colorful tree frogs.

Clothing in Cozumel is very relaxed, no ties in sight unless you are attending one of the few very upscale restaurants. During the winter we suggest a light sweater. Bring flat shoes if you intend the explore the ecological reserves.

The development differs from Cancun whcih was a planned destination. Instead Cozumel's growth has been gradual over the years based on small to medium sized hotels and resorts. None the less a wedding is Cozumel is a dream. Whether you are planning a small or large production Cozumel has you covered. You'll discover a wide variety of wedding and honeymoon packages from the hotels. No matter if your style runs to diamonds and champagne, jeeps on the beach or somewhere in between there is something for you.

The island measures 48 kilometres from north to south but only 16 from east to west. The temperature is an average 80 degrees. In July / August the temperature rises to the high 80's / low 90's. In Dec / Jan the temperature drops to low 70's. Water temperatures range from 77 degress to 88 degress throughout the year.
